Overburden Stress
On the Overburden Stress form (1D MODEL > Overburden > Overburden Stress) you specify the input data for calculating overburden stress and the overburden stress in EMW.
-
In the Specify Input Data section, select how to calculate the overburden stress:
Linearly interpolate density... If data is missing between the mud line and the beginning of the overburden density data, you can choose to interpolate the density in the gap using a constant density. To do so, check the box and specify the desired Start density in the adjacent field to use for interpolation.
-
In the Calculate OB Stress section, specify the Data source for calculating the overburden stress curves:
From overburden density Select to calculate the overburden stress from a Composite Overburden Density log. By default, the name of the Composite Overburden Density log generated in step 2 is displayed in the selection field. If the lock icon is in a locked posture then click (Re)Calculate to calculate the Overburden Stress. Additional two tracks are displayed in the Overburden Calculation view showing the Overburden Stress curve and the Overburden Stress in EMW.
From regional data When selected, select a property table, or click the Edit button to open the Regional Data table, where you can manually create depth values, copy and paste them from a spreadsheet or import from a LAS file. In the Regional Data table, specify the Property template as Overburden Stress. Then click Create.
- To display the Overburden Stress log (displayed in the adjacent read-only field), click Show. Click OK to close the form.
